They have verification from the State of Alaska and the Municipality of Anchorage that they will comply with government construction standards. Before starting construction​ check below to see if your contractor​ is licensed with the State of Alaska and the Municipality of Anchorage.

Selecting a licensed contractor is vital for assuring that work you have done:

  1. Is safe,
  2. Is designed and built to meet applicable code requirements,
  3. Uses material of the appropriate quality; and,
  4. Is done with good workmanship.
You should only hire a contractor who is licensed by the Municipality of Anchorage for work done in the Municipality because:

  2. A Municipality of Anchorage License is only given after state license, insurance and necessary specialty licenses are confirmed.​
