The Southeast Park District covers the Community Councils of Abbott Loop, Mid-Hillside, Hillside East, Huffman/O’Malley, Rabbit Creek, Bear Valley and Glen Alps.

Parks & Recreation Facilities in the Central and Southeast Districts:

Bittner House Recreation Office – 316 Lynwood Dr

Hilltop Chalet – 7501 Abbott Road

Picnic Shelters at Ruth Arcand Park, Taku Lake Park and Wolverine Park

The Bittner House Recreation Office, which serves as the primary Central and Southeast Park District office, is nestled along the Cambell Creek Trail at 316 Lynwood Drive, just a 15 minute walking distance north of Taku Lake Park. Rentals for the Hilltop Chalet normally will be processed through this office year-round.

Hillside Park and Far North Bicentennial Park are hosts to the Hilltop Chalet and encompass approximately 4,000 acres of park land. Non-paved trails, about 80 kilometers, wind through a variety of terrain and provide recreational opportunities for most abilities. Lighted trails are provided on 7.2 kilometers of trail.

The Hilltop Chalet is a great place to hold company picnics, host monthly small business meetings, entertain a wedding party or provide special events. This quiet, outdoor setting provides great views of the park, forest and wildlife from the chalet’s grand windows. The chalet is located in Hillside Park near a vast trail system that readily connects also to the Chugach State Park. Rentals are available seasonally through Anchorage Parks and Recreation from April 15^th through October 15^th.

Room Rentals

Full Chalet Rental:
Elegant Package #1: $1,000.00 for a maximum of 8 hours. An extension of the timeframe would include the hourly rental charges per room. Includes Kitchen, Main Hall, Northern Room and Patio only. (does not include Southern Room or Park Use)

Elegant Package #2:   $1,300.00 for a maximum of 10 hours. An extension of the timeframe would include the hourly rental charges per room. Includes Kitchen, Main Hall, Northern Room and Patio only. (does not include Southern Room or Park Use)

Main Hall:  $70.00/hr.
2,158 sq. ft., max. occupancy 231, overlooks Hillside Park. Fireplace as a feature point. Great for weddings, receptions, special events, etc.

Northern Room: $40.00/hr.
864 sq. ft., max occupancy 60, ideal for business meetings, birthday parties, etc.

Southern Room:  $30.00/hr.
324 sq. ft., max. occupancy 34, private room, great for small meetings, workshops & small parties.

Kitchen:  $40.00/hr.
528 sq. ft., full-service kitchen includes convection oven, full sinks, industrial refrigerator and freezer, small microwave, and plenty of outlets.

Before/After Hours:    $30.00/hr.
Holiday Use: $30.00/hr.

Alcohol Waiver: $250 waiver fee

Outdoor Rentals

Patio:   $15.00/hour or $100.00/day
Park Use: $100.00 to $150.00 depending on the size of the party. Great for an outdoor wedding ceremony! A breakdown of charges in detailed in the Room Rental Reservation Request.
