City Office Hours and Operations Update:
Tuesday, November 14, 2023
Municipal offices and services have reopened and resumed operation. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any delay in service.
Monday, November 13, 2023
Mayor Bronson announced that all city offices will be closed to the public on Monday, November 13, 2023. The decision was made with thoughtful consideration of the current winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service that is expected to bring upwards of a foot of snow in certain locations and windy conditions.
The city office closures do not apply to the Anchorage Police Department, Anchorage Fire Department, Port of Alaska, AWWU, Merrill Field, and Street Maintenance; however, the public-facing operations for these departments will be closed.

The following Municipal offices are closed today, November 10, 2023 in observance of Veteran's Day: City Hall, Anchorage Public Libraries, the Permit Center at 4700 Elmore Road, Anchorage Health Department, AWWU's customer service, and APD's front counter.
People Mover has suspended operations today due to hazardous road conditions, and it will be closed on November 11, 2023 in observance of Veteran's Day.

The Anchorage Health Department – Closed to the public
Anchorage Fire Department
-- AFD fire & EMS operations and 911 dispatch are fully functional. Academy is off today for the holiday. Fire Prevention, admin and support functions are closed.
The Purchasing Department – Closed to the public
All City Libraries – Closed to the public
People Mover – Suspended operations until further notice. The situation will be assessed hourly.
Anchor Rides – Limited to essential trips only. Essential trips include trips to dialysis, cancer treatment, and trips to get essential oxygen or medical supplies.
Equal Rights Commission – Closed to the public
Traffic Engineering – Closed to the public. Staff will be available to respond to downed stop signs and signals in flash, etc. as-needed.
Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility – Delayed opening of headquarters/customer service at 3000 Arctic. Opening will be at 10:00 am.
The Planning Department – Closed to the public
Mayor's Office – Closed to the public
Real Estate Office – Closed to the public
The Port of Alaska – Standard operations continue. Ocean carrier administrative and shipping offices are open by appointment only as usual.
Property Appraisal – Closed to the public
Office of Treasury – Closed to the public
Parks and Rec – All offices currently working snow response. Fairview and Spenard Recreation Centers, Kincaid and Russian Jack Chalets, and all Pools are closed today. The gates at our gated parks are open today.
Anchorage Police Department – Standard operations continue. 911 dispatch fully operational.
