Anchorage Assembly Chair Christopher Constant announced the creation of a new committee to discuss the present and future conditions of transportation in Anchorage, including impacts on quality of life and public health for Anchorage residents.
Chair Constant has named Daniel Volland and Meg Zaletel as co-chairs of the Transportation Committee-of-the-Whole. The committee will work alongside municipal and statewide partners to review and provide recommendations regarding transportation projects and planning.
The committee co-chairs extended invitations to regular attendees, including staff from the Municipality of Anchorage representing the Traffic Department, the Planning Department, AMATS, and the Maintenance & Operations team, state leaders from the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities and the Anchorage Delegation.
The Transportation Committee will meet quarterly beginning this month, on Wednesday, October 18 at 1pm in City Hall 155.
