Assembly Leadership Announces Housing Action Week Events

10/10/2023

Today, Anchorage Assembly Leadership announced the Anchorage Housing Action Week (HAW) event calendar from October 30 - November 4, 2023. HAW is a community-wide initiative to explore and transform housing policy, with events and programs that examine Anchorage's housing experiences, beliefs, and vision for the future.

HAW offers something for everyone, with events for business professionals at the Dena'ina to families at the Mt. View Library. The Assembly invites everyone to participate. HAW culminates with the Community Housing Action Summit on Friday, November 3, 2023, with special keynote speaker Charles Marohn of Strong Towns. The full-day workshop will help shape policies promoting abundant and diverse housing opportunities with actions to engage change.

“Anchorage's housing shortage is an everyone problem – it's bigger than the Assembly, which means expanding the conversation beyond the Assembly is paramount to success," said Felix Rivera, Housing and Homelessness Committee chair. “Through these events and programs, we invite every resident to join us in shaping our city's future, creating a housing landscape that benefits everyone."
