Two Anchorage Election Commission meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Both meetings will be held at the MOA Election Center at 619 E. Ship Creek Avenue, Door D, which is on the east side of the building. The meetings are scheduled as follows:
- 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. - Election Commission Worksession regarding the May 14, 2024 Mayoral Runoff Election.
- 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. or until complete - Election Commission Public Session of Canvass and Adoption of the Election Commission Report regarding the May 14, 2024 Mayoral Runoff Election. The Commission will review preliminarily challenged ballot envelopes and will make final decisions on the adjudication of challenged ballots for the May 14, 2024 Mayoral Runoff Election.
The Anchorage Assembly certification of the May 14, 2024 Mayoral Runoff Election is scheduled to occur at a Special Assembly meeting on Friday, May 31, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Room #155 at City Hall.
Written testimony or comments for the Election Commission meetings are encouraged, and email is one way to provide information to the Anchorage Election Commission for the Public Session of Canvass. Please submit written comments to elections@anchorageak.gov by 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. There is also a call-in number for the public to listen to the meeting. Campaigns and individuals with challenged ballot envelopes will be provided time to speak to the Commission regarding those challenges. The public will be provided a limited amount of time to speak under Audience Participation.
