The last day to file for office for the April 2, 2024 Regular Municipal Election is Friday, January 26, 2024. Candidate filing forms are available at muni.org/elections. Forms are also available at the MOA Election Center, 619 E. Ship Creek Avenue, Door D, and at the Municipal Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 632 West 6th Ave., Suite 250, in the hallway. Filing for office opened on Friday, January 12th.
Candidates may file at the Election Center between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or at the Clerk's Office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Candidates may also return their notarized filing paperwork by email (elections@anchorageak.gov) or fax (907-343-4313).
Offices on the 2024 ballot include: Mayor; Assembly Seat A – Chugiak, Eagle River, JBER (1-year term); School Board Seat E, School Board Seat F, School Board Seat G; and various Service Area Board of Supervisor seats. The entire list of offices that will be on the ballot is posted at muni.org/elections/candidates.
The April 2, 2024 Regular Municipal Election is a Vote at Home/Vote by Mail election where qualified registered voters will be mailed a ballot package at least 21 days before Election Day. Voters will have the opportunity to study the ballot with trusted resources, mark their choices, read and sign the voter declaration, and return their ballot by placing it in one of 18 secure drop boxes, bringing it to an Anchorage Vote Center, or by mailing it through the USPS with first-class postage.
