Assembly Members Felix Rivera and Randy Sulte have organized two town halls to continue hearing from members of the public about Project Anchorage and AO 2024-105(SA).
“I promised a community partner to host at least one town hall on Project Anchorage if we didn't get to a vote on January 7 and now I'm fulfilling this promise," said Member Rivera. “This is a complicated topic and we owe it to the public to keep providing opportunities to hear from them before we take the vote."
The next public hearing on AO 2024-105 is scheduled for the Regular Assembly Meeting on March 4. As sponsors of the ordinance, Members Rivera and Sulte intend to make a motion to continue the public hearing to the meeting of March 18, and if supported by a majority of members, to hold two town halls next week:

“We have been open to feedback on Project Anchorage from the beginning and have made dozens of modifications and inclusions to the proposal, big and small," said Member Sulte. “Every chance we get, we have always wanted to create more opportunities to hear from the public and model how legislation, whether it passes or fails, should be developed."
A final worksession on AO 2024-105(SA) is scheduled for Friday, February 28 from 1 to 2pm at City Hall, Room 155. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person, although worksessions are not usually an opportunity to provide testimony. The meeting will be livestreamed on the MOA Meetings YouTube channel.
If the Assembly votes on March 4 to continue the public hearing to March 18, the co-sponsors hope to have a final public hearing, debate, and vote on whether to put Project Anchorage on the ballot or not.
