$40 Truck and trailer load (5x8ft per truck and trailer)
*No mixed loads, no trash, or other contamination. For Anchorage residential loads only, all commercial loads must go to the Anchorage Regional Landfill. No lumber, pallets or other building material must divert to the Anchorage Regional Landfill.
The purpose of the new Central Wood Lot located at the Materials Recovery Facility, is to provide a place for wildfire mitigation wood debris for Anchorage residents. The Anchorage Fire Department encourages residents to clear a defensible space around their homes. Now Anchorage residents have a place to bring the debris rather than filling up the landfill and harnessing the "trash, as a treasure." Please note the acceptable items for the wood lot may be different from the Anchorage Regional Landfill Wood Lot.
Anchorage Municipal Wood Lot
15500 Eagle River Loop Road (off the Hiland Road exit off the Glenn Highway) and
is operated at the Anchorage Regional Landfill managed by Solid Waste Services.
Anchorage Regional Landfill Wood Lot opens May 17-August 31. Free wood disposal Fridays and Saturdays for Anchorage Residents, all other disposal days $20 per truck, larger loads $82.29/ton.
Anchorage Regional Landfill Wood Lot disposal is free* for Municipality of Anchorage residents only, every Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The following materials are accepted at the Anchorage Regional Wood Lot:
- Brush & branches
- Cut trees must be less than 6ft long
- Debris from residential properties only
- "Clean" tree stumps, they cannot have any rocks, dirt, landscaping debris attached
* Lumber and wood fence posts (cannot have any metal, concrete, or other materials attached) fees apply.
The Anchorage Regional Landfill Wood Lot materials will be put through a shredder which is why the following materials cannot be accepted and will result in a full charge load:
- Root clusters
- Grass or loose leaves (leaves not on branches)
- Dirt or rocks
- Bagged materials (no bags please)
- Garbage or metal
- Debris from a commercial property or land clearing activity is not accepted
- Mixed loads (e.g. wood debris mixed with garbage and recycling) Please make a separate trip for garbage and recycling.
When entering the Anchorage Regional Landfill, please notify scale house staff that you are visiting the Wood Lot, and follow signs directing you to the specified area. Booth attendants can answer any questions you might have. The Wood Lot is monitored throughout the day.
- Please be safe and aware at all times when accessing the area.
- A reminder that all loads brought to the Anchorage Regional Landfill must be secured or covered.
- Scavenging any materials is strictly prohibited.
