Purpose
A program advisory commission that develops a comprehensive health services plan, advises on budget and programs of the Anchorage Health Department and legislative matters affecting health programs.
Major Activities
- Facilitate the development of prioritized local health and human services goals and needs.
- Recommend mechanisms and actions to meet the prioritized goals to the Mayor and Assembly.
- Inform the Mayor and Assembly and community on the status of health and human services issues as new strategies are implemented and challenges arise.
Meetings
Regular Commission Meetings are held bi-monthly: Second Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September, and November. All meetings are held at 825 L Street in the 4th floor conference room and through Microsoft Teams from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

There are nine seats on the Commission. Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Assembly. Terms are 3 years and commissioners may be reappointed for an additional 3 year term.
