This project is exactly the kind of small-scale high quality retail and visitor accommodation space that Girdwood needs. The developer and his architect (both local residents) have bent over backwards to create pleasant spaces and to integrate their buildings with the surrounding natural setting of California Creek and also with the Town Square, which it will complement and act very much as a "north anchor" for downtown. I was particularly impressed that they did "sun studies" to locate and orient their buildings - to my knowledge the first time this has been considered in what can be a very dark, wet place. I am very enthusiastic in my support of this project, and look forward to walking amongst the buildings, dining in the restaurant, and recommending the lodge to out-of-town guests.

I support this project because it will create another venue for residents and visitors to relax and dine in our town. I am looking forward to frequenting the new coffee shop. With the new condo project across the street there should be more than enough patrons to support the development.. There is never any trouble finding a parking place in Girdwood at night , even on a busy Saturday night.. It appears that adequate parking is allocated for this project. so I do not see that as being an issue. I have two children attending the local school. I ithink there is sufficient buffer and distance between this project and the school grounds. In the 30 years i have lived in Girdwood, this is one of the most attractievly designed projects propsed for our town and I enthusiastically support it.
