I want to make sure that drainage provisions for this road are adequate - DOWL has in the past underestimated the drainage volumes on works Alyeska Holdings has performed for the Municipality (the Verbier Way project) and the service area has had to bear the costs of repairs. I submit that we have not seen the 100 year flood for Girdwood, and may not have seen the 50 year flood. What DOWL has called the "100 year flood" for their calculations on the Verbier Way project has actually occurred 3 times in the last 20 years, including twice in one year. The largest creek drainage this project crosses should be bridged, not culverted, to ensure maximum capacity. As the property above this road is built out, the tract will lose most of it's ability to absorb heavy runoff.
