I am in support of changing the zoning in GC-10 to allow a Brewery. I see no negative affects that it would have on the neighboring areas. It would add variety of experiences to be had in our resort community along with encouraging the growth of small local businesses.

I am in support of a Girdwood brewery located along Alyeska Highway between Glacier Creek and Timberline Drive in Girdwood, Alaska. I understand the property in question is only zoned Commerical. The brewery has the support of Girdwood Land Use Committee and the Girdwood Board of Supervisors. Please move forward in allowing this business to locate at this specific location. Sincerely, Rebecca Reichlin

The action being considered under Case No. 2016-0007 is to expedite a new business undertaking, namely a craft brewery in Girdwood. The principals have visited all the community organizations necessary to act on the development (Girdwood Land Use Committee and Girdwood Board of Supervisors) and have received approval from them. They have talked with property owners in the area and received no objection. This is an ideal low impact business for Girdwood and certainly is congruent with Girdwood as a residential/recreational community. The application was discussed at the January 9, 2016 meeting of Girdwood 2020 and received favorable comments. To that I add my own support and urge the Assembly approve this action. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Diana Stone Livingston

I support changing zoning to allow for general manufacturing on a conditional use for gc-10. And make general manufacturing a permitted use in GI-1 and GI-2 districts. I have attended the Land Use Committee and GBOS meetings and there has been overwhelming support for a proposed Girdwood Brewery in our community which the alteration of this zoning would permit. Girdwood needs zoning to allow for business diversification in our community and this type of business fits well with the mountain resort community that Girdwood is. Thank you, Lynne' Doran Executive Director of Girdwood 2020 and Girdwood resident for over 20 years.
