Sections 4.1 and 6.3.2 reference an upcoming transportation plan and a request to reactivate an inactive bus stop along Tudor Road. The Public Transportation Department (PTD) has not received this request and would like to review the transportation plan before making a decision. We also welcome the opportunity to be included in the development of the transportation plan. Reactivating the stop adjacent to the Navigation Center on the south side of Tudor Road (stop #580) would require a realignment of the Route 25 and discontinuing the bus stops within the ANMC area on Tudor Center Drive. Some of these current stops have high boarding and alightings. The impacts to current riders would need to be analyzed and compared with the increased need of future riders accessing the Navigation Center. If Route 25 remains in its current alignment, both the inbound and outbound bus stops near the Navigation Center will be on the north side of Tudor Road. These stops are about a quarter mile walking distance to the Navigation Center and within the industry standard of acceptable walking distance to bus stops. To help encourage people to cross at the signalized intersection or pedestrian overcrossing, PTD supports strategies and solutions to prevent midblock crossings on Tudor Road. |
