Justice - Peace - Equality
Have you suffered discrimination at your job, in your housing, or at a local business, school, financial institution or governmental agency within the Municipality of Anchorage? The Anchorage Equal Rights Commission provides free and confidential services to the public in cases involving discrimination and harassment.
If you believe you have experienced discrimination or harassment, you may contact the Commission staff by phone, email, or walk-in and they will advise you of your rights at no charge. In appropriate cases, the staff will prepare a complaint of discrimination for your signature and impartially investigate your allegations. If your case is outside of the Commission’s jurisdiction, the staff may be able to make referrals to other organizations that can assist you.
If you or your organization are interested in a presentation to learn more about AERC or anti-discrimination laws, please contact our office telephonically, at 907-343-4342, or email us at EqualRights@anchorageak.gov.
No appointment is necessary and translators are available free of charge.
