​NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARING: ​​​

The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of April 9, 2024.  The public hearing portion of t​he meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali:    

Ordinance No. AO 2024-24, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Title 21 Chapters 21.03: Review and Approval Procedures; 21.04: Zoning Districts; 21.05: Use Regulations; 21.06: Dimensional Standards and Measurements; 21.07: Development and Design Standards; 21.08: Subdivision Standards; 21.09: Girdwood; 21.10: Chugiak-Eagle River; 21.13: Nonconformities; and amending Anchorage Municipal Code of Regulations section 21.20.002: Schedule Of Fees - Zoning; and Chapter 21.90: Multiple Dwelling Unit Residential Development on a Single Lot or Tract, in order to make technical corrections, clarifications, resolve inconsistencies, and address unintended effects of the recently adopted changes to parking and site access requirements in Title 21 (Planning and Zoning Commission Case No. 2023-0108 and 2024-0011), Planning Department.

Resolution No. AR 2024-100, a resolution of the Anchorage Assembly reappropriating One Million Three Hundred One Thousand Five Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars and Eighty-Two Cents ($1,301,563.82), previously appropriated for use-specific Emergency Cold Weather Sheltering costs within the Alcoholic Beverages Retail Sales Tax Fund (206000) and reappropriating One Hundred Eleven Thousand Dollars ($111,000.00), previously appropriated for Emergency Cold Weather Sheltering costs wit​hin the Areawide General Fund (101000), to the Anchorage Health Department for emergency sheltering. ​

​Ordinance No. AO 2024-26(S), an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Section 15.20.020 to add to prohibited campsite location any [ing Homeless Camps] within 10 blocks of any licensed homeless and Transient Shelter, reducing the minimum period for posting prior to disposal of campsite personal property from 15 days to 10, prohibit[ing homeless] Campsites with more than 50 shelters or tents [people, providing for additional exceptions to abatement procedure], and provide[ing] for 72[24]-hour abatement of camps at or near wastewater public nuisances [at homeless camps]; adding a new code chapter to [and] provide[ing] for designated safe parking areas for vehicular homeless camping; and amending AMC Section 16.125.065 for conformity with the foregoing amendments [, and defining prohibited camping as a criminal misdemeanor].


How to Testify: The Assembly receives public comments during Audience Participation, as well as public testimony on all open public hearing items.

The public may participate in person, through written comments, or by phone. There is no sign-up for in-person testimony - the Chair will invite the public to speak on a first come basis during the Assembly Meeting. Please do not sign up to provide phone testimony if you plan to attend in person.
