Septic System Installers
Excavators must be certified by this department to install septic systems within the Municipality of Anchorage. Excavators are required to attend one of On-site's Excavator/Engineer training seminars once every 3 years. The company must have a current State of Alaska Contractor's license, either a general contractor license or specialty licenses in Excavation and Water & Sewer. In addition, the company must have a current general contractor or specialty license with the Development Service Department. An Application for Certification and fees must be submitted yearly.
Engineers
Engineers are encouraged to attend an Excavator/Engineer training seminar offered by On-site, but it is not a requirement to do on-site water and wastewater design and inspection work in the Municipality of Anchorage. Engineers who have attended an Excavator/Engineer training seminar within the last three years, may elect to pay the seminar fee and have their name included on the list On-site makes available to the public. If this class is used as continuing education, the fee is required.

Well Drillers and Pump Installers
Well drillers and well pump installers must be certified by this department to drill wells or install well pumps that serve up to two dwelling units within the Municipality of Anchorage. Attendance at an MOA training seminar is required every 2 years to be eligible for certification. An application for certification and fees must be submitted yearly.
The annual training seminar is typically held at the Alaska Water Well Association Convention. Please check the convention schedule to see if the training seminar is on the agenda.
