Who is eligible for WIC?
Women and children who need better nutrition and who are:
- Pregnant
- Mostly breastfeeding a baby 0-12 months old
- Post-partum mom with a baby under 6 months old
- Infant 0-12 months old
- Children under 5 years old (including foster children)
WIC is for all kinds of families: married & single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under 5 years of age, you can apply for your child.
Who can apply for Alaska WIC?
You can participate in WIC if you:
- Live in Alaska
- Have a nutritional need (WIC staff determine this)
- Meet WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines
