​Who is eligible for WIC?

Women and children who need better nutrition and who are:

  • Pregnant
  • Mostly breastfeeding a baby 0-12 months old
  • Post-partum mom with a baby under 6 months old
  • Infant 0-12 months old
  • Children under 5 years old (including foster children)

WIC is for all kinds of families: married & single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under 5 years of age, you can apply for your child.

Who can apply for Alaska WIC?

You can participate in WIC if you:

  • Live in Alaska
  • Have a nutritional need (WIC staff determine this)
  • Meet WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines
