Mountain View Community Center Transition

​​​​​​​Based on input from local partners and the Mountain View community, the operation of the Mountain View Community Center will transition from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska (BGCSAK), which has managed the facility since it opened in 1998, to the Anchorage Parks and Recreation Department.

    Important Dates

    • March 19, 2025​: Strategic plan community meeting at the Mountain View Public Library (120 Bragaw St.). Meeting starts at 6:30 PM.​
    • June 12025: Anchorage Parks and Recreation begins overseeing daily operation and programming of the Mountain View Community Center.

    Will programs and service at the center change?

    Plans for future programs and services are still being developed. Anchorage Parks and Recreation is committed to providing safe, accessible, and engaging opportunities for the Mountain View community. 

    What will happen to the existing staff? 

    Staffing changes may occur as part of the transition. Our hope is that existing staff will pursue opportunities to continue working at the Mountain View Community Center.
