Engineering and Design Section

The Engineering and Design Section provides engineering and design services for road, safety, drainage, parks, and trails projects.  The Section is also responsible for:

• updating the design criteria for municipal roads and drainage and publication of the Design Criteria Manual (DCM).  
• updating and publication of the Municipality of Anchorage Standard Specifications (M.A.S.S.). 
• preparation of design and construction documents for roads, drainage, and recreational infrastructure projects.
• providing internal support and review for variances for proposed designs, oversight review of road and drainage projects in the Municipality, and other miscellaneous engineering support functions.
