Vision Zero – Safe Streets for Everyone
Vision Zero is a global movement to eliminate all traffic-related deaths and serious injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all. It recognizes that traffic collisions are preventable and that human life and health must be prioritized in transportation planning and design.
In Anchorage, Vision Zero is our city's commitment to create a transportation system where no one is killed or seriously injured on our streets. Through data-driven strategies, cross-agency collaboration, and community engagement, we are working to build safer roads for everyone—no matter how they travel.
“The recent tragedies on our roads are unacceptable, and they serve as a stark reminder that we must do more to ensure everyone can travel safely.”

Mayor Suzanne LaFrance
