Emergency Supply Kit
After an emergency, you may need to survive on your own for several days
Being prepared means having an emergency supply kit in your home, vehicle and place of work to last for several days. In Alaska, due to the way we receive goods, it is best to have a kit that can last 2-weeks.
In Alaska, it is crucial to stay warm and dry during an emergency situation. In addition to an emergency supply kit, designate a post-disaster meeting place for family members and an out of state contact that family members can text or call to say they are okay (in-state phone lines may become clogged).
Supplies should be conveniently located in an easy to carry container/backpack.
