1/14/25, 10:30am update:

  • The Anchorage Emergency Operations Center remains activated at a heightened level 2 this morning, which includes increased monitoring as well as response related activities by emergency management staff and other municipal employees and leadership
  • Numbers of CEA and MEA customers without power continue to decrease, although we know there are still some waiting to be brought back online. For the latest outage numbers, and outage phone hotlines, please visit CHUGACH ELECTRIC and MATANUSKA ELECTRIC sites. 
  • The weather forecast for the MOA looks pretty good for the next few days, with a couple chances of some light snow, and slightly colder overnight temps. For the latest forecast please see the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE page. ​
  • Solid Waste Services is offering ​free wood lot drop offs to Anchorage residents, at their Regional Landfill and Central Transfer sites, through the end of January. Please visit SOLID WASTE SERVICES​ page for all the details and instructions.​
  • Parks & Rec are promoting their Hazard Tree reporting app, for people to report in downed and dangerous trees. Their crews are getting out and helping remove those to keep our parks and trails safe for use. The app can be found at: https://bit.ly/ANCHazardTree​.
  • Parks & Rec have both Fairview and Spenard Rec Centers open for regular business today, and are waiving adult entrance fees.
  • The warming center at 545 E. 4th Ave will be opening early again today at 4pm instead of 8pm. People can call for availability information at (907) 727-6776.
