If SWS picks up your trash/recycling, and your service day is on Wednesday December 25, 26, or 27, spring ahead one day. For the two weeks of the holidays, Christmas and New Years Day plan on pick up the day after your normal pick-up date. Email SWCS@anchorageak.gov for any questions. Happy Holidays from all of us at Solid Waste Services. If you are last minute holiday shopping, please do what you can to minimize packaging. Thank you for putting #lessinthelandfill and recycle as much as possible.
Winter Weather Update:
On inclement weather days, expect we will attempt our normal routes. If our trucks are unable to service your address, we will attempt to return the next day. Please email swcs@anchorageak.gov if you need special assistance. Thank you for your understanding.
Book a tour, let's talk trash, "Trash IS Treasure!" Call 907-343-6289 and request a free tour at the Central Transfer Station, there is so much to learn about your landfill. Appropriate for Third Grade and up, that includes adults! 
Solid Waste Service's mission is to provide safe, efficient, and innovative solid waste management for the Municipality of Anchorage. By distributing free dump passes, SWS's intent is that we can encourage Anchorage residents to clean up our green spaces and make Anchorage beautiful.
