What We Do
The Long-Range Planning Division helps plan for community growth and development based on sound land use, urban design, economic and environmental planning principles. The division performs planning for land use, public facilities, and environmental resources; facilitates public and private development reviews; provides planning services on special projects; and offers planning assistance to the public. The division has a central role in implementing the recommendations of the Municipality's comprehensive plan, such as new district and neighborhood plans and revised land use regulations.
The division also prepares amendments to municipal code, drafts new policies, conducts special planning studies and areawide rezonings, provides support to the Heritage Land Bank, and administers the Municipality's wetlands management program. Long-Range Planning staff also support numerous municipal commissions and committees.
