​No matter what type of business you start in Alaska, you will be required to obtain a state of Alaska Business license​. This is a requirement for all types of business entities (Sole Proprietor, Partnership, LLC, S Corporation, Non Profit, etc.) In addition to the state of Alaska Business license (and any corporation or professional licensing​ paperwork that your industry may need) the Municipality requires that certain industries also obtain a Municipal business license and or specific permits relevant to that industry.
